FORMS, FLESH, FRAME - FIGURE SHOWDecember 7, 2024 - January 26, 2025
Reception December 7th, 2024, 4:00 - 6 PM The theme of this juried show broadly concerns the human figure. This “figuration” can literally portray the human form, in any size, shape, sex or situation to the essence or abstraction of the figure. The juror will be seeking humanity in the “human form”. This can be represented in a wide range media: drawing, mixed media, printmaking, collage or sculpture. As depicted over centuries, the gamut of emotion, expressivity, individualism and physicality to be found in the figure is endless. What is out there in contemporary figuration now? What messages and stories through depictions exploring the human form are relevant, fresh, timeless, surprising and challenging today?
