Featured Solo Exhibition:
Transmission Gallery is pleased to present Friend or Faux, a solo exhibition of work by Nemo Gould. Imbued with an inventive sense of humor, Gould's kinetic sculpture invites interactive engagement and a sharp recognition of its eclectic origins. Obsolete industrial parts, abandoned machinery, gears, dials and housings achieve new presence deftly remade with electronics and wiring in pieces like Parallax and Counter Intuitive.
Consider Aura: completed in 2022, materials include a gas arc lamp enclosure, telephone dynamo, panel meter, fuel gauges, numeric indicator lamps, door plate, dough mixing blade, magnifying lenses, pot handles, wood, steel, and brass precisely fitted together. With a good turn of the crank, Aura lights up with a lovely thought-glow despite the frowny face. Other pieces respond with sound or motion.
