Stop by Transmission Gallery to see Monsters + Friends, a solo exhibition of new work by Karl X. Hauser featuring work in a wide variety of transmutations, from drawing and watercolor to bronze, aluminum and iron sculpture to fused glass pieces.
Starting with intense graphite drawings, Hauser illuminates complex relationships and interior emotional states that veer between the horrifying, the humorous and the achingly vulnerable. The assembly of beasts, personages and conversations that emerge invite the recognition of our own, at times, monstrous natures and mysterious connections to family, friends and group.
Open Thursdays and Fridays, noon to 6 pm, and Saturdays, 11 am to 5 pm.
